Steps for Creating Book Trailers
Step 1 –Find a book you like and READ it. Is there a book you really like? Is there a subject or genre you want to promote? Is it an Author you think is great? Whatever it is you need to like the book.
Step 2– The object is to get people to read the book. Who are the main characters? What mood or tone does the book invoke? What is the setting? What images come to mind when you think about the book. Leave the audience wanting more. DO NOT TELL THE STORY! How will you get your friends to read the book?
Step 3– Use a storyboard and layout your ideas. Maybe use posted notes to draw or write ideas down. Then arrange the notes on a large piece of paper in an order that make sense. Notes can be easily moved or removed and new ones can be added. Remember not too long, but not too short. The timing needs to be 3 minutes or less.

The next 3 steps may come in any order:
Step 4- Find Images or video or both to use in the Book Trailer. You can find free photographs. Be careful. Remember do not use copyrighted images or videos.
Step 5– Check out some free music or sounds that can set the mood for your book trailer.
Step 6- This could have been done before the images and music or after, but you need to write a script.
Step 7– Find an online or off line program to create a video.

Step 8– Be sure to tell the name of the book and maybe show the cover. Now create the video. Sometimes this is called rendering. Melting all the parts into one video.
Step 9– Share the video. Find a place where others can see what you produced.
